In the 1851 census Henry is living with his brother George. In the 1861 census he was resident in the Workhouse the same time as the four youngest children of his brother Wiiliam. He remained there for the rest of his life.
When researching the genealogy of William, an Elizabeth HAYWARD was discovered, baptised in Withington. So alarm bells rang. Was this the Elizabeth HAYWARD, first wife of William? This would have meant that William and Elizabeth perhaps married before moving down to Charlton Kings. It would also mean that the parentage of Elizabeth would be changed to Thomas and Catherine HAYWARD.But persistent research showed the following-William's second marriage to Hannah BROWN identifies two witnesses as John and Amy HAYWARD.Elizabeth's identified parents of John HAYWARD and Mary STANLEY also had a son John (b 1780) - Elizabeth's older brother. John married Ann YOUNG who also had a son John and he married Amy COOKE in 1831. All this happened in Charlton Kings. The witnesses John and Amy were the nephew (niece-in-law) of William's deceased wife Elizabeth HAYWARD !
