By 1841 census John has already died, but no registration can be found at Helston (Crowan) in 1837/41 - so he may have died before registration began.

In 1841 Charlotte is a widow living with the three younger children at White Stile Down, Crowan. She is described as a miner, but I suspect this means working at the mining works because in 1851 she is "keeping house" and the two daughters are "employed in tin mines" In the 1871 census Charlotte is living with her son William. Looks like Charlotte was illegitimate.
